Children & Chili

As most of you know I meant to post my chili recipe last night.  Unfortunately, my 16 month old daughter also decided that last night was the night she was going to cry relentlessly for hours on end not letting me do anything except hold her or stress out while hearing her cry. Thankfully she calmed down and fell asleep, but left me time to just get myself to bed.

So I thank you for your patience as I reward it with my hubby's chili recipe.  Enjoy!

Paleo Sausage Chili

2 lb ground turkey
4 chicken sausages (diced - chunky) - we use Aidells's chicken apple sausage
1 onion (diced)
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
chili powder
organic no-salt spice mix (Kirkland brand from Costco)

Saute chicken sausages in pan until browned.  Add onions.  Cook until translucent. Add ground turkey.  Add some chili powder, no-salt spice mix and cook thoroughly. When ground turkey is browned, add diced tomatoes and tomato sauce.  Add more spices if needed to taste.

Super simple!  Super ono!  Easily modifiable to your tastes.  Enjoy!

Rested but still HURTIN'!

Today was supposed to be a light workout day since yesterday I worked on power movements.  The hubby assigned me to a light jog.  His words: "You wanna get strong go for a light, slow jog. You wanna get fit, go for a harder jog."

What if I want to get strong AND fit?  His answer: Light Jog.  Not too bad, I thought.  So after teaching wild and crazy first graders all day long, I figured I'd go for a nice leisure jog around the neighborhood before picking the kids up.  One word:  OUCH!

My legs were still pretty stiff from yesterday and as I started my jog, light and slow felt a lot like hard and fast!  But I couldn't go any slower!  After the first 6 minutes my legs began to loosen and the last leg was a lot better.  Jogged the entire length of Hind Drive and back to my car in 20 minutes.  Not too bad.

However, after picking up the kids, I could barely walk down the 18 steps to my house.  Definitely up for a rest this weekend.  But it was awesome.  I worked hard and I can't wait to start feeling the results.  =)

Today's Meals:

Breakfast: 2 eggs, 1 mushroom, 1 slice cheddar cheese, salsa on top
Snack: 1 cutie, 1 string cheese
Lunch: Leftover dinner from yesterday. (Kalua pig, cabbange & other stuff)
Dinner: Yummy, yummy italian sausage with mushrooms, onions, tomato sauce & italian seasonings. (Pics to come.)

Workout:
"light" jog - 20 minutes, flat, road.

Be Inspired!
I'm out!

Back with a VENGEANCE!

All right. All right.  I know I've been away for a while, but with 3 kids, who can blame me?  Well, I guess I can.  =)

I'll catch you up on all the happenings later in my Paleo/Primal/Not-so-Paleo world.  But for now, here's my meal plan and work out of the day.  Hubby's been training me hard after I got inspired by Gina Carano kicking ass in the movie Haywire.

Tuesday's workout:

4 rounds of:
4 x 100 yd. sprint
10 push ups
10 squats

Totally felt like passing out and/or puking.  Was super hard, but felt good to go strong.

Today (Thursday):

Workout #1:
5 rounds of:
5 broad jumps
rest (in between)

Workout #2
4 rounds of:
